Flexa: Convenient Transportation Service in Leipzig
Flexa is a travel and navigation application developed by Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH. It is available for iPhone users and is free to download.
Flexa aims to provide convenient transportation options for users in Leipzig. It offers pick-up services from your doorstep and takes you to your desired destinations, as well as the nearest tram or bus stops and train stations. Currently, Flexa operates in two regions: Flexa Nord in the northern part of Leipzig, including Lindenthal, Breitenfeld, Wiederitzsch, and Seehausen, and Flexa Südost in the southeastern part, covering Holzhausen, Meusdorf, and Probstheida.
Since November 1, 2022, Flexa-Leutzsch and Flexa-Südwest have been added as additional service areas.
Flexa was introduced by Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe as a pilot project on October 13, 2019. The goal is to gather feedback and improve this innovative mobility service. To facilitate testing and optimization, the LVB has developed a dedicated test app in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute DS. The app aims to evaluate the functionality and user-friendliness of the modular application, with continuous improvements planned throughout the project period.
